Potassium Sorbate In Food

What is potassium sorbate and why is potassium sorbate in food and also added to so many other products?

What Is Potassium Sorbate?

Potassium sorbate is a chemical additive and preservative used in many foods, drinks, and personal care products. It’s a white, odorless, and tasteless salt made from potassium hydroxide (lye) and sorbic acid.

Potassium sorbate prevents the growth of mold, yeast, and fungi, which helps to extend the shelf life of foods. It’s especially effective at preventing mold growth in cheeses.

According to the FDA, Potassium Sorbate is considered safe for human consumption when used appropriately.

Potassium Hydroxide?

Potassium hydroxide (KOH), also known as lye, caustic potash, or potash lye, is a toxic, corrosive, and powerful base with many uses:
  • Chemical, industrial, and manufacturing: Used in soap making, as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries, in electroplating, lithography, and paint and varnish removers.
  • Food: Used as a food additive, pH adjuster, stabilizer, and thickening agent.
  • Skincare and hair care: Used as a preservative.
  • Disinfectant: Used to clean hands, skin, and surfaces.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Used to clear organic material from skin scrapings to make fungi easier to see.

What is Sorbic Acid?

Sorbic acid was first isolated in 1859 from the berries of an ash tree, but it’s now manufactured artificially. It’s a white or colorless solid that’s slightly soluble in water and more soluble in plant oils and propylene glycol.

Sorbic acid is found in many foods, including: meats, cheeses, baked goods, fresh produce, syrups, lemonades, fruit juices, sauces, and soups.

According to the FDA, Sorbic acid is generally considered non-toxic to humans, but high concentrations can be harmful to the mucous membranes, upper respiratory tract, skin, and eyes. Ingesting large quantities can also cause intestinal obstruction, and inhaling it could lead to chemical pneumonitis.

So, the FDA considers potassium sorbate safe for human consumption, even though potassium sorbate comes from two highly toxic and even corrosive artificial preservatives called potassium hydroxide and sorbic acid.

This is what’s wrong with our country –Big Food & Big Pharma own the FDA! This is why the most toxic poisons can be openly added to anything they want to create any illusion they want, regardless of how dangerous it is to people.

What is the illusion they want to create?

They want to create something that looks delicious, tastes delicious and even smells delicious, and lasts as long as possible on the shelf of course, but all of it wreaks havoc on your hormones and on every organ in your body!
This is why I always say disease is man-made.
Now, if the word potassium sorbate doesn’t invoke enough fear and danger to make you want to avoid it at all costs, then just replace the word potassium sorbate with the word “rat poison” or “arsenic”, because potassium sorbate is at least as toxic as either of these two common poisons we grew up hearing about.

Can Big Food add potassium sorbate to organic foods and drinks?

In the EU absolutely not, but of course in the USA it’s allowed in smaller amounts. We live in a country that poisons its’ citizens every day, everywhere, and they justify it by simply telling the people that’s is safe in smaller quantities. Really? Rat poison is safe in smaller quantities? Great, thanks for looking out for me!

You can’t walk down the street and sit on a park bench without being poisoned several times, you can’t drive your car on the freeway without being poisoned and you can’t eat or drink anything from the supermarket that doesn’t poison you.

Yes, poison is everywhere, but that doesn’t mean there doesn’t exist the last poison-free oasis that you can turn to for real health and can detox a lifetime of potassium sorbate from your whole body, and you found it right here. Take back your health!
